Happy 2021, everyone! We made it!
A very big pat on the back to you for making it to the other side of 2020! While we're not walking through a portal today into a world free of problems, it does feel good to step into a New Year with a fresh attitude and hopeful mindset. We may still need to work to clear some hurtles, but with continued work and focus, I am hoping that this year we'll see a little more peace, magic, prosperity and love.
If you're a member of the community who has suffered a loss in 2020 - we see you. A New Year and all of its promise is exciting to celebrate, but it doesn't take away real hurts from the past year. Whether it's a loved one, your job or financial security, or your mental health, last year took a real and tangible toll and I just wanted to take a moment here to acknowledge that as well, and let you know we're thinking about you, and sending you thoughts for peace, renewal and joy in 2021.

Happy September, friends.
For this month's illustration, I wanted to capture that between-season feeling. We're not really in Summer, and we're not really in Fall quite yet. It feels like we're between seasons in our lives right now too, and I think many can relate to that. We're waiting to exhale on so many aspects of life right now, but I'm confident that if we put one foot in front of the other, and keep moving forward with good intentions and open hearts, we will get to a better outcome for all. :) I also wanted to include mushrooms and butterflies in this month's wallpaper because we have so many in our yard right now!

I really wanted to focus this month's illustration on intentions. What are you seeking this month? Rest from the uncertainty of the world and the future? Peace for ourselves when everything seems so divided? Recognition of the real issues we're fighting to resolve? Or perhaps you're seeking Positivity as a way to move forward through this time. Maybe it's Resources to grow your passions so you can contribute to this world in a meaningful way. Maybe it's simply a moment to catch your breath. Whatever you're seeking this month, I hope that you read these words and take comfort in them... that the more we spend our energy on creating the new, the more quickly we'll see those changes in our lives. Take a moment today to say them out loud, and put them out into the Universe. She hears you :)

Happy July, everyone! It's an understatement to say that the last few months have been a challenge, and also a revolution of thought and action. Exciting and difficult changes are starting to happen, and we at Paper Raven Co. are committed to continuing in this fight.
That said, the importance of resting and appreciating the simple joys of life has become a critical point of balance for many of us. I wanted to illustrate something that simply just made me happy, something that felt hopeful. Additionally, it was only fitting to focus on the color yellow this month: a color symbolizing awareness, education and new thought, mixed with optimism and hope for the future.

Thank you so much for your patience and overwhelming support of my decision to postpone our June Desktop Wallpaper to hold a space for important conversations about race and allyship. I was so grateful to receive so many kind emails from you all, and I'm happy to share June's Desktop Wallpaper with you now! Many of you asked for my previous graphic to be converted into a wallpaper, and I wanted to make sure this one did not include a calendar, so it could be enjoyed anytime.

May 2020 Illustrated Desktop Wallpaper
Happy May, everyone. We have been over here baking way too many brownies, doing a little bit of stress-eating (relatable content?) and taking a lot of long walks through our neighborhood. Mostly, we have been trying to focus on the bright spots in this current situation. I'll be the first to admit that some days are easier than others! In that spirit, I wanted to create May's Desktop Wallpaper from a place of joy and inspiration from our time outdoors. The happiest moments of my days have been when Daniel, Patty and I take walks around our neighborhood and admire the new flowers blooming everywhere. We are so privileged to live in a beautiful, safe place with nice weather, and I have been doing everything to keep that top of mind so I can use the support we're receiving as a business and turn it around to help our neighbors and local economy.

Even though the weather has been like riding a rollercoaster lately, on warmer days I've really been enjoying my afternoon walks with Patty, seeing all of the new life and greenery peeking out, ready for Spring.
