Thank you so much for your patience and overwhelming support of my decision to postpone our June Desktop Wallpaper to hold a space for important conversations about race and allyship. I was so grateful to receive so many kind emails from you all, and I'm happy to share June's Desktop Wallpaper with you now! Many of you asked for my previous graphic to be converted into a wallpaper, and I wanted to make sure this one did not include a calendar, so it could be enjoyed anytime.

May 2020 Illustrated Desktop Wallpaper
Happy May, everyone. We have been over here baking way too many brownies, doing a little bit of stress-eating (relatable content?) and taking a lot of long walks through our neighborhood. Mostly, we have been trying to focus on the bright spots in this current situation. I'll be the first to admit that some days are easier than others! In that spirit, I wanted to create May's Desktop Wallpaper from a place of joy and inspiration from our time outdoors. The happiest moments of my days have been when Daniel, Patty and I take walks around our neighborhood and admire the new flowers blooming everywhere. We are so privileged to live in a beautiful, safe place with nice weather, and I have been doing everything to keep that top of mind so I can use the support we're receiving as a business and turn it around to help our neighbors and local economy.

I was very unsure at the outset of Covid-19 where we would be as a business, or how we would navigate the uncertain road ahead. To me, a snail was the perfect metaphor for this time in our collective existence: we've all been forced to slow down (which in some ways has been a blessing), we're all curled up in our homes, and we've been given an opportunity to take in the world around us and our values with more clarity than ever. Happy March, everyone! Even though the weather has been like riding a rollercoaster lately, on warmer days I've really been enjoying my afternoon walks with Patty, seeing all of the new life and greenery peeking out, ready for Spring. I take a lot of comfort in the Cycles of Nature - they are a beautiful demonstration in balance. Here is a wonderful quote I read earlier today that I wanted to share with you:

Happy January - it's a Shiny New Decade! What are your plans for 2020? I hope you have something wonderful in store :) As for me, my resolutions include giving myself more White Space, healthier work-life boundaries (hard for creatives!), and a healthier lifestyle with more gym visits and activity that I ENJOY (that one is predictable, I know, but it's true!).
For me, this year is about keeping it simple, so with that in mind, I created this January 2020 Desktop Calendar, and focused on the hand-lettering, with just a few little embellishments.

I trust everyone had a wonderful Halloween! We got totally mobbed by cute kids Trick or Treating last night, Patty dressed up as a Banana Split, and Daniel won a costume contest for his rendition of Garfield, complete with giant paper mache head. All in all, it was a spooky success. I also talked about my haunted apartment in my Halloween Animated Instagram Post.
For this month, I wanted to capture the feeling of coziness (SAT Word Bonus Points: "hygge", pronounced "hue-guh"), and do something a little more fun than just your typical (but lovely) fall leaves. I hope you like it! I love how the calendar fits in the camping mug, lol.

October 2019 Illustrated Desktop Wallpaper: A Special Tribute
It's finally October - or as I like to call it, "the most wonderful time of the year". For this month, I want to create something a little more involved and special than my usual freebies. So I illustrated a tribute to the legendary true-crime comedy podcast, My Favorite Murder. Now, while I am a huge advocate for getting out into nature, one of the things I love about this podcast is that Karen + Georgia (the hosts) are huge advocates for women's safety, awareness and defense. So get out there (especially in the beautiful Fall temps!) and hike, explore and discover to your hearts content, but also tell a friend if you're going alone, be alert and responsive to your surroundings, and trust your gut if something seems off. Now, have a great Autumn!
